What is “ Itapon Ministry Group (IMG) ”

IMG might be one of a stranger group in term of ministry. These also still happen to us who accompanies with it.

Our origin is related to the IT supporting of Christian community around Chaing Mai of Bruce Rowe with started from early 90s and continue with additional foreign volunteers. Their roles mostly were as individual, but sometime they did team up as a group when they had to meet some needs or project that over their single ability. These become one inspiration of IMG. We find that there are “ITAPON” when we working together.

Also it started to have some native Christian computer persons around. Some are the trainees who work with Bruce, some come from different origin and start to know each other and also had some opportunities to work together. Those events become the opportunities for them to learn and share their insight about IT in Christian circle which late developing into the searching for more cooperation to use their IT skills and expertise to serve this Christian community as IMG.

The foreign volunteers also begin to see the potential of the native persons that they can handle the needs in some level and it will be more beneficial for the whole if hey adjust their roles in these kind of mission by allowing the native to take part and working together with them as consultants, couches, friend and also brother in the Christ.

Other aims that have been accepted among member of the group are the opportunities to develop the Christian relationship among them and with the people they do their work with; also building the Christian characters that would shine out in their working life esp. responsibilities, quality and efficiency of the work which will support their whole Christian life.

During October to December 2001, we started to meet with each other to exchange our view and seek His guidance for all the things. We together examined through all of the principle that we would agree in our group and any possible conditions that our group would face in the coming future. From that time we were assuring of His guidance that we saw in the way people committed themselves to this group by agree at. We believe that all that occur under His guidance and preparation, because it is impossible by chances or may of our own effort to bring these people together.

From that time on we went into define our mission and developing the guideline and our working system which become the norm that we still pursue until this day.
